How to practice para biathlon without arms?
On one of the infographics, Katarzyna Rogowiec describes how she shoots a rifle, despite not having both hands.
Przepraszam, ale nie rozumiem Twojej prośby. Potrzebuję więcej informacji.
“In the standing category, I am one of the athletes shooting completely without the use of hands. To do this, I need the help of my coach, who prepares the shooting range for me (brings the gun to the shooting position, helps to set it up and stabilize it by fastening the belt, and after the shots, unfastens the belt and takes the gun to the base zone). However, I am able to load and shoot without anyone’s help. To pull the trigger, I use a special device made of cables, thanks to which I can shoot using my arms.”

The biathlete moves at an average speed of 14 miles per hour.i.e. approx. 22 km/h, in the case of Katarzyna Rogowiec, not usingwalking sticksA classic air rifle is used for shooting. Athletes who are unable to pull the trigger with their fingers can do so using a string (or another system that is closely tailored to their abilities and needs), allowing them to load the air rifle and shoot independently. Biathletes with disabilities always shoot in the prone position. Those who do not have one hand/both hands use the help of a coach who hands them the air rifle. Additionally, they can use a special support (for better stabilization of the air rifle) on which the coach places the rifle.
