Joanna Mucha, Minister of Sport and Tourism, met with athletes preparing for the 2014 Sochi Winter Paralympics, their coaches, and the President of the Polish Paralympic Committee. The meeting was to summarize the implementation of preparation programs for the games in the 2012/2013 season.
The meeting discussed the training and start plans of the team until the end of 2013. The Director of the PKPar Office informed about the organizational preparations for the games.
The XI Paralympic Winter Games will take place in Sochi from March 7-16, 2014, under the patronage of the International Paralympic Committee. 692 athletes will compete in 5 sports: cross-country skiing, biathlon, alpine skiing, wheelchair curling, and ?sledges? hockey. Polish representatives in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and biathlon have chances to qualify for the Paralympic Games.
I became sad… There will be 6 sports in Sochi, snowboard was also included for these Games.
