The main objective of this meeting was to discuss the 2015 Code draft and collect members’ comments for the Athlete Committee submission to the Code Review process annexed herein.

The Committee also discussed key topics, current issues and matters raised by WADA’s Director General’s report, and as a result, several comments, and suggestions were offered:

• Concerning worldwide anti-doping laboratory capacity: members encourage approval of laboratories or
  clinics to analyze blood samples to help countries without accredited-laboratories;

• In response to recent doping allegations in Kenya, members call for the Kenyan government to put
  in place an independent inquiry on the latest doping allegations highlighted in the past year by the media;

• Members acknowledged that the RADO Office in Nairobi has increased its program capacity and the
  The Committee is eager to see progress in that area. The same viewpoint pertains to Jamaica, which is improving its activities following a change in leadership at the management level.

• General comments about the Code Review:

– The Committee was also given a presentation on the need to increase the role of education in prevention by Rob Koehler, WADA Director, Education and Program Development. Members agreed on the importance to reach out to athletes and educate them on the dangers of doping and why it is morally wrong. They are calling on anti-doping organizations to raise the levels of education and information in their anti-doping programs.
