Summary of the second day of the Sochi Olympics
Cross-country skier and biathlete, Kamil Rosiek, finished the 15km race in 11th position, as we already reported. He commented that it was his best result at the Games. After Saturday’s accident of alpine skier MichaÅ‚ Klos during training on the slopes in Sochi, on Sunday, para-alpine skiers were unlucky again.
Maciej Krężel and Anna Ogarzyńska were disqualified from 7th place in the super-G because the judges found that the height of the ski plate and binding exceeded the permissible 50 by two millimeters (the device broke down for the competitor during the morning training and was replaced).
Andrzej SzczÄ™sny did not finish his run. The competitor said about his crash on the course: Shortly after the start I fell into a hole, lost my balance and went off the course. I wasn’t an exception, either. More than half of the starting competitors did not reach the finish line, and of those, like me, who race on one leg, only one finished the super-G. (Romuald Schmidt, monoski coach, added: “And“ndy was mistaken – none of the seven athletes from his LW2 class finished the SG”. Åukasz Szeliga, coach, team leader:”…The most important thing for the athletes is to forget about this situation and focus on the next races. Super-G isn’t our strongest discipline. We treated it more as training and a test before the super combined.Okay, I’m ready. Please provide the Polish text.
We’re following, cheering, waiting for more, faster, closer to the podium and the podium.
